Our Missionary Work

Ezekiel 36:36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the LORD have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.’

The Miracles Continue: Why Supporting Missions is More Critical Than Ever

We often look back at the Bible, marveling at the miracles performed in ancient times. We read of miraculous healings, provisions in the wilderness, and unwavering faith in the face of impossible odds. But how often do we recognize that God continues to work miracles in our lives today? How often do we see His hand at play in the dedication and tireless efforts of missionaries around the world?

Dr. Matthew Loftus recently highlighted a stark reality that should give us pause: “The total closure of USAID would cause irreparable damage to a number of Christian mission institutions across Africa, and I’m sure across the world. A lot of what USAID is funding is critical infrastructure that everyone relies on to keep their programs running every day, like medicines.” This statement underscores the vital role these organizations play, providing essential services and support that are often the lifeblood of vulnerable communities.

Think about it: Access to clean water, life-saving medical supplies, education, and disaster relief – these are not just humanitarian efforts; they are modern-day miracles delivered through the hands of dedicated individuals answering a higher calling. These missionaries, driven by faith and compassion, are the instruments through which God’s grace and mercy reach those in desperate need.

For many of us, the idea of rebuilding something destroyed feels overwhelming, even impossible. The recent legal battles faced by USAID, as they fought to continue their crucial work, finally took a personal toll on me last night while working on this section of the campaign and finally the exhaustion gave way to tears. But in that moment of vulnerability, a powerful message from Ezekiel 36:36 resonated: "Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the LORD have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it."

For me, this passage strengthens me and served as a potent reminder that even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges, God promises to rebuild and restore. It is a call to action to not give up, but to know that God is beside us helping us ... urging us to support the work of these modern-day missionaries and the organizations that empower them.

The work of missionaries is not merely a profession; it is a sacred calling. It is a response to God's command to love our neighbors as ourselves and to reach out to those in need. And the proposed USAID-AMERICA stands ready to answer that call, continuing the essential work that is so desperately needed around the globe.

Let us not stand idly by, lamenting the challenges and hardships facing the world. Instead, let us recognize the ongoing miracles happening through the work of missionaries and support them in their vital mission. Let us remember that by supporting USAID-AMERICA and similar organizations, we are not just funding programs; we are investing in hope, healing, and the continuation of God's miraculous work in the world. We are planting seeds of faith and compassion that will blossom into a brighter future for generations to come. Let us answer the call and become partners in the miracle.
