You don't have to go to underdeveloped countries to find elderly people finding their food from garbage cans; eating dog food, barely surviving.

Does he have a cold, pneumonia, or even something worse.  Sadly, he doesn't have the co-pay to go to the doctor to find out.  So, he does what many elderly people, even in industrialize countries do, remember what their parents taught them about home remedies.  Sometimes this works; other times it doesn't.  Both elderly people and adult people die each year because they cannot afford to buy medicine; get doctor care.  So many adults and elderly people are in pain each and every day ... but they have to endure the pain because they have no way to buy medicine if the insurance company does not cover the cost.

There is a fairy tale going around that DEPRESSION cannot kill. Stop reading this fairy tale because it is NOT TRUE.  Sadly, medicare won't pay for this woman's medication for depression. Why do people commit suicide?  Even those who have money; glamour, everything in life. BECAUSE THEY ARE DEPRESSED. Can she die from a broken heart?  Those who believe in fairy tales would say no. But in reality, according to the American Heart Association, dying from a broken heart is real ... its not a fantasy, a make believe.

Broken heart syndrome may be misdiagnosed as a heart attack because the symptoms and test results are similar. In fact, tests show dramatic changes in rhythm and blood substances that are typical of a heart attack. But unlike a heart attack, there’s no evidence of blocked heart arteries in broken heart syndrome.

In broken heart syndrome, a part of your heart temporarily enlarges and doesn’t pump well, while the rest of your heart functions normally or with even more forceful contractions. Yes, a broken heart is treatable. But that's only if you have insurance that would cover this.

Google the terms Elderly abuse by the government and you come up with a list of facts related to elderly abuse that has nothing to do with the elderly.  That's because the government do not perceive themselves as abusing the elderly.  The question that must be addressed is does the government do an even decent job of taking care of the elderly?  Is social security enough for elderly people to live off; does medicare provide the benefits needed by elderly people? The answers to these questions as No. That's the first step in understanding government abuse of elderly people.
